Went out to lunch with a friend and he surprised me with a gift – the book entitled “Think and Grow Rich” by Napoleon Hill. He swears every collection should have a copy of this book. I was really touched by his kind gesture. Am keen to start reading it.. soon!
..I’m going down to Malacca aka Melaka with a bunch of workmates to attend an ex-colleague’s wedding. After the ceremony, we’re planning to stop by someone’s family home which happens to be situated near a fruit orchard. I heard talks of a durian fest. That should be interesting.
..I finally found some self-control this week. Staying off rice this week and making sure I got to the gym at least twice a week. Hope all is well with you week. Take care! ;)
I caught the much-anticipated Dark Knight yesterday. It did not disappoint. Bale’s portrayal as the conflicted Batman was outstanding. And of course, the late Heath Ledger, now larger than he ever was in life, shall go down in history as one of the greatest Joker ever. Gripping, dark and intense. One of the greatest releases this year to date!
I breezed through this one within days. It was interesting, funny, poignant and very honest.
Jancee Dunn was a writer at Rolling Stone magazine and interviewed celebrities including Madonna, Barry White and a handful of rock stars during the pre-Nirvana and post-grunge hey day. She had a stint at MTV and shared several insights into the life of the rich and famous (Christina Aguilera is real, JT not so much).
In between exposes and revelations, she shared stories about her childhood, her close-knit family and a few failed relationships. In short, this book was a compulsive read, like flipping through the juiciest tabloid and reading the diary of a girl who got to live her wildest dreams. Inspiring!
